The paper analyzes and problematizes the role of State Intelligence and its relevance in the integration of public agencies operating in the border area. The objective is identify and evaluate the adequacy of State Intelligence for inter-institutional actions in the border area that provide for national protection and defense, repression and inhibition of cross-border organized crime actions. This study is integrated by conceptual elements that best allow understanding about the issue of State Intelligence; the problem of integrating public agencies in the border area; and the Integrated Border Protection Program (PPIF). Finally, the goals and actions to improve the State Intelligence mechanism in the border are discussed. The article concludes that State Intelligence is a catalyst for the actions of public agencies in the border region, and for this, it is fundamental to share data, information, systems, tools and structures. © 2022, National Police Academy.
