This article wonders about the reality of the collaboration in the French-Italian-Monaco cross-border space. In the first part, analysis demonstrates that this zone constitutes a true cross-border space, which owns common characteristics as stakes, and where informal and institutional interrelations exist on both sides of the border. The second part is dedicated to an assessment of the actual cross border cooperation. The projects of cooperation developed a lot during the last twenty years. However, an examination of the list of the projects qualifies the impression of profusion. The nature and the duration of the projects realized until now as well as the absence of a real cross-border governance do not still allow to build real projects of integrated territory.
