The Interreg initiative is the tool that the European Union uses in order to obtain better relations between the border territories at three levels: A) Transborder cooperation (between contiguous areas); B) Transnational cooperation (between national, regional and local authorities); and C) Interregional cooperation (networks integration, with exchange of communication and experience). The effects of this initiative at the borders of Spain with Portugal, France, and Morocco are analyzed.
