The Euroregion EUROACE consists of the Portuguese regions of Alentejo and Centro as well as the Spanish region of Extremadura. It covers an area of more or less100,000 km² and inhabits about 3.5 million people. The region’s rich cultural heritage and its intact environment provide best conditions for travellers looking for culture, nature and active recreation.
The fact that traveling around these three regions is so easy only adds to their attractiveness. The beautiful beaches on the Atlantic coast make for a charming contrast to the tranquillity of the seemingly endless and sparsely populated landscapes in the hinterland. Characterized by extensive plains and undulating hills, evergreen forests and fascinating mountain ranges, the hinterland is also home to the most enticing towns and places.
Along with several historic-cultural gems (10 World Heritage sites alone), it makes the Euroregion EUROACE a top destination for explorers. In addition, there is a large variety of excellent culinary options, composed of high-quality regional products. The extensive network of modern hotels as well as charming traditional accommodations embody the spirit of hospitality with a high degree of authenticity. All this far away from mass tourism.
